The Scoop: Week 1

The Scoop: Week 1

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH

  • 9am - Open Field and Opening Ceremonies
  • 10am - Game Play WAKE vs. SHAKA SOCIAL CLUB
  • 11am - Game Play (Women’s Player Pool)
  • 12pm - Game Play (NIGHTCRAWLERS vs. CRIPPLE CREEK)

LIVE MUSIC: Chaz Minivan kicks things off at 9:15 AM on the Alley
Stage with a 45-minute ambient live-loop set. Grab a coffee, wander
over, and ease your way into Sunday.

COFFEE: Groovy Goodies will be on site with their truck serving up
delicious coffee and refreshments all morning. Because some of us need
a little help becoming people before 10 AM.

YOGA: Open to everyone—players, families, friends, kids, whoever wants
to join. Gwyn will be on the field from 9:15–9:45 AM leading us
through some movement, stretching and breathing to get the day started
right. Gwyn is a certified yoga instructor who loves helping people
build strength, improve mobility and connect mind and body. No yoga
experience required.

DJ: Every game is 50 minutes of running time, and the clock is
basically DJ SSDM. His on-field set starts the game, and when the
music stops, so do you. Just 50 minutes of rhythmic lacrosse with a
live soundtrack.

FOOD + DRINKS: Local staple 64A Pub & Grille will be on site serving
food and drinks for the whole family. Grab something before your game,
refuel afterward, or skip the lacrosse entirely and just come hungry.

Come early. Bring the family. Grab a coffee. Stretch a little. Listen
to some music. Play some lacrosse. Eat something good. Hang around.

WHAT TO KNOW:

What should I bring?

  • If you’re playing, full pads would be a great idea.
  • If your hangin, just bring a good attitude, maybe some friends.

What’s the playing surface?

  • Field turf so either an athletic shoe or cleats should work just fine.

How long is the event?

  • We start up right at 9am with a free group yoga session and games go on until 1pm so you can get out of dodge just early enough to watch your fantasy football team crumble before your eyes.

Should I bring a stick even if I’m not playing?

  • Of course we encourage the game to be played everywhere and anywhere, if you don’t have one we will have a few to lend out.

Tailgating Rules:

  • No outside bevys, let's be honest it's 9am… but they are for sale if you do feel so inclined.
  • No grilling out in the parking lot either, we have all the food you can feast on.
  • Please if you have a dog, keep it on a leash and pick up its droppings. We love dogs but let's respect others and the hollowed grounds of the great Wildcat.
